Psssst... YOUR magazine is almost here! Just a few more days...
Apple Meringue
Check out this old handwritten cookbook. Again, one of mom's great finds. She's my garage sale hero. I was thinking that I'd put the recipes in a file on the sidebar so we can all try them out. It's a hoot reading some of the instructions -"add butter the size of an egg". If you think you might use them, I'll work on getting them in a digital format. Let me know what you think. Here's a couple that sounded good for an Autumn Tuesday Treat (just click to enlarge): Carmel Pudding & Apple Meringue
By Invitation Only

It's 60 pages of all photos - no text! All Round Top!! You have been some of the sweetest friends I've known! Friends to laugh, cry & pray with. I couldn't take you all with me to Round Top (wouldn't THAT have been fun?!!) but I'd love to share some of the flea marketing scenery with you! The cost is $12 (I really, really wish I could send you each a free copy!) - That's the actual printing cost - just so you know that I'm not making a profit =) It's available by invitation only so if you would like to purchase a copy please contact me (countingyourblessings@gmail.com ) with your email address and I will be more than thrilled to direct you to the site! Believe me, it's a perfectly scrumptious mate on a cool Autumn night!
Thrifyville And Friday Flea
I thought it would be fun to show you how some of these other shops set up their displays, etc. I'm anxiously hoping that you will enjoy it. I've tried to keep the cost inexpensive. Self-publishing companies have both benefits and drawbacks - a benefit is that it's print on demand (I don't have to do huge minimum order of 100's of copies) - a drawback is that the end cost is a little higher. Keeping that in mind, I jampacked each page full of photos and didn't do much writing - you get enough of my ramblings here, right?! I'd be ever so humbled if some of you (ok, even one of you) picked up a copy (this link will redirect you to the publishing site).
Ok enough already... I'll move on to Friday Flea Market. If you're interested in this dual tray with handpainted roses, Click Here

Green Gables

Wouldn't it be dreamy?! The Anne of Green Gables Country Fair - celebrating 100 years!
My all-time favorite redhead!

If you're in the PEI area, won't you please, please be a bossom friend and take pictures the Country Fair for me????
Goose Pimples
It's 14 degrees and our furnace has gone out! Hubby has dragged in some firewood, called the Home Warranty Company and made 500 trips up and down the basement stairs.
I have turned on my pink stove...
and settled into a tale about the elusive Mr. Darcy. Hope to have Valentine treats for you in the shivery morning hours.
Prelude
Today is a Prelude. Waiting, Breathless, Tangled - blissfully unable to move... Anticipating... Knee deep in snow but Oooooo I love February!
And it's Friday! And I've just watched Sense & Sensibility! Can you believe it - I've never read the books or seen the movies?! So a couple weeks ago hubby and I rented Pride & Prejudice. And now I'm happily hooked! This was only my second in the series. I'm taking them slow and savoring each one! It was just a little bonus that Hugh Laurie was snuggled into a few corners of Sense & Sensibility! (I'm disappointed with House lately though - too many comparasions of himself and God. Is anyone else as deeply in denial about it as I am? Perhaps I should write to the Writer's Guild. They would care what one viewer thinks, right?! -insert smirk with rolling eyes here).

I've started a new book and announced that we'll be ordering pizza tonight! I've been working so hard that even I can say that I need a break! No, I can't tell you. But... be here Monday! Here's a vintage valentine tag... Like a string-on-your-finger reminder.

Feels like something new is around the corner! Anticipation is half the fun, don't you think?!
(p.s. I think it's going to be a silly day... It's Superbowl weekend and I don't care a lick about football this year, but it was funny to wake up to the headline "Playboy vs. Mamma's boy"! Even funnier when my 4 year old asked me to sign his baseball. AND he wanted me to sign it "Babe Ruth"! He watched Sandlot yesterday. =) The mailman has just arrived and, as the envelopes poked through the slot, my daughter sweetly yells at the door, "Thaaaaaanks!" Yep, Spring Fever has hit!)
Lettres d'amour
I think we should all send and receive letters filled with complimentary words several times a year - be it to a lover, loved one or a loving friend. Mom and I hunt all year for special little gifts that we exchanged on Valentines Day. Wouldn't you love to receive a stack of vintage love letters tied up with string or a pearly ol' brooch - no matter who it's from? Some women have a significant other who knows the perfect romantic gift for his gal. And for some, the romantic gifts that are most cherished come from a sister or close friend. This year, let's be the one with the cherished gift to give. Let's study a friend and find out what would make her heart leap.I don't know about most of you but I crave romance everyday. Not mushy, kissy romance but beautiful, catch your breath images or words... Stories that cause me to stop and brush away the tears... A 6 year old girl pirouetting around the kitchen... Hankies piled up all pretty in grams linen drawer... A bit of lace peeking out from the hem of a skirt... Wonderment over how many uncaught kisses still float through the house, blown from little hands at bedtime... Everyday romance.

So I'm tossing out an idea or two...
Send a unique love letter from Say It With Letters. This "M" is a project that Jennifer Paganelli did using their letters and victorian sheet music. You can decorate your pre-drilled diecuts however your heart desires.

For inspiring romantic reads, Faded Rose has a blog that you won't be able to tear yourself away from! Some days a link to a lovely blog or a pretty magazine waiting on the stoop after work is just the break a friend needs.

Sometimes Valentines is a lonely reminder. Laughs are in order! Maybe it would be a good time to have a close friend over and dig out old love letters from previous relationships. If his fingers did the walking it might be fun to analyze what they wrote. Or perhaps see what your handwriting conveys about your heart's true offerings. Use this handwriting analysis.

Beatnik
My oldest son is spending every morning this week at different coffee shops around town, reading poetry with his Literature class. Doesn't that sound wonderful?! Well... go grab your favorite flavor and let's join the beatnik crowd. Here's Penny Cafe at the Bean Scene...(Poem translation: "Life is like a lime. Tart and tangy. Mmm. SO sublime. QUIET. Speechless. Like. A Mime. Don't you dare waste my time! 'Cause life can STOOOOPPPP! ...on a dime.")

Cover Girl Giveaway
Fun stuff today. It's Monday and in my book Mondays should be fun. New Valentines magazines arrived over the weekend and I've pulled out my stash of old Valentines magazines too. Victoria used to have the best Valentine issues, don't you think?! You know how nutty I am about my magazines. I've always wanted to make my own magazine and when I found out that I could create a magazine cover, I just had to give it a whirl! You can make one here if you'd like to try it out. It takes about 30 minutes if you have Monday-Morning-Brain like me and it was pretty fun too.
