Christmas at the Chick Barn
White Wednesday

Happy White Wednesday! I thought I'd share a few photos before the holiday cook-a-thon begins today. In between the magazine and French Cupboard, I've been working on a couple things for our Black Friday Extravagant Affair and some Christmas gifts.

And someone will win a free 6 month French Cupboard membership!
Above all, take time to thank God for even the smallest of joys in your life because we know that every good and perfect gift comes from Him. Happy Thanksgiving!
Congratulations to Kathleen at Faded Charm Cottage for reaching the 75th White Wednesday!
An Extravagant Affair!
Put on your party hats!! The French Cupboard is having an old fashioned, vintage style party!
Holiday Preview
We're having a Holiday Preview Party over at the French Cupboard blog this weekend! Starting Friday morning we will be sharing some of the holiday items that we've been working on.
Tophat Tree Topper
Raising Cane
I say it every year!
I don't care for traditional Christmas colors and someday I'm going to get around to decorating with more chic shades, something more "me".
I've let it all swirl about in my head long enough!
I've decided that "my" Christmas color is the color vintage and even though our gaudy tree must continue for kids, I'm setting up some vintage-y vignettes this week.
What are your Christmas colors?
Aroma
I don't drink coffee.
I'm a straight Diet Pepsi girl but I love the smell of coffee! I think it must remind me of my childhood home. My parents always had coffee brewing or a cup cooling. Last week I was working on some rosehip filled sachets for the holiday season and decided to fill a few burlap sachets with coffee - just to try it out. Oh My! I had no idea how the scent would fill the house. No idea how this common scent would entice feelings of home and family. Like how the smell of a newborn makes moms remember their own sweet babies. Like the smell of old books... Like the smell of rain... Funny how a simple scent can represent so much.
Harvesting Blessings
We don't do Halloween at the Blessing farmhouse but we definitely do apple orchards, pumpkin patches, apple cider donuts, pumpkin soup and woodfires with family all around. As bloggers, it's a great time to celebrate how God made us in His likeness.
God the artist
Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. (Psalms 67:6) All the colors we use in our art, God created them.
God the chef
Mary Jane's Farm has the neatest article about how various foods look like our organs and how they promote health for those organs. A walnut looks like brain and helps develop neurontransmitters for brain function. Sweet potatoes - pancreas. Sliced Carrots - eyes. Tomato - chambers of the heart. Kidney beans - the kidneys. Avacados - a woman's womb.
God the decorator
In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2)
As you prepare the treats for tonight, remember to delight in the treats God has given to inspire and nurture your art, your hobby, your home, your health.
Harvest His Blessings.
Romancing the Blog
My most favorite romantic image is hanging in my kitchen. I know, it's an unsual place for a kissy picture but you know how I love my kitchen (well, I love the pink stove... the cabinets still aren't painted and I don't feel anything akin to love for them). I don't remember where I got that old picture but feel free to use it if you like.

Many blessings of love to you....

Inspired Wrappings
I had such a lovely time wrapping gifts yesterday! I stopped over to Faded Plains in the morning and she had some unique burlap wrapping that spurred me on.
Paperie Tree
As soon as I saw these little charms that my sweet friend, Sher, made I had visions of Christmas trees. Then today I stopped over to visit Tracie at My Petite Maison and she had read my mind! I had to get our little paperie tree up so the kids can enjoy it during school tomorrow. I'm afraid my photos don't do these pretty papers justice. Stop over to Tracie's and see how lovely they really are...Lace Tree
Today is Friday Flea Market but I needed a little break. I thought I'd show you the ornament that I got from Once Upon A Cottage in our ornie swap. It's hanging on our lace tree! I love, love, love it!!
Pink Tree
Vintage Stitches
I've been working on an ornie swap - Jingle For The Cure. A long holiday weekend, stitching by the fire...Black Friday Flea Market
