Prelude

Today is a Prelude. Waiting, Breathless, Tangled - blissfully unable to move... Anticipating... Knee deep in snow but Oooooo I love February!

And it's Friday! And I've just watched Sense & Sensibility! Can you believe it - I've never read the books or seen the movies?! So a couple weeks ago hubby and I rented Pride & Prejudice. And now I'm happily hooked! This was only my second in the series. I'm taking them slow and savoring each one! It was just a little bonus that Hugh Laurie was snuggled into a few corners of Sense & Sensibility! (I'm disappointed with House lately though - too many comparasions of himself and God. Is anyone else as deeply in denial about it as I am? Perhaps I should write to the Writer's Guild. They would care what one viewer thinks, right?! -insert smirk with rolling eyes here).

I've started a new book and announced that we'll be ordering pizza tonight! I've been working so hard that even I can say that I need a break! No, I can't tell you. But... be here Monday! Here's a vintage valentine tag... Like a string-on-your-finger reminder.

Feels like something new is around the corner! Anticipation is half the fun, don't you think?!

(p.s. I think it's going to be a silly day... It's Superbowl weekend and I don't care a lick about football this year, but it was funny to wake up to the headline "Playboy vs. Mamma's boy"! Even funnier when my 4 year old asked me to sign his baseball. AND he wanted me to sign it "Babe Ruth"! He watched Sandlot yesterday. =) The mailman has just arrived and, as the envelopes poked through the slot, my daughter sweetly yells at the door, "Thaaaaaanks!" Yep, Spring Fever has hit!)

  4. I love your YouTube...is there anyway I can find out what some of the movies in it are from? I haven't seen some of them.

I've seen both versions of Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Mansfield Park, Sense and Sensibility, Little Women...I was so SUPRISED that you had not seen them yet being the romantic that you are!!! They are mine & my hubby's favorite movies. We even have all the soundtracks and listen to them regularly.

  7. Oh I hoped you watched the BBC's 1995 version pf P&P, it's VERY long but worth it because so much of the details of the book were made into the movie and it's just.. well... Capitol! ha ha Not at all like some of these 90 minute adaptions! If you haven't seen that particular version I truly hope you'll rent it, it's the best! By the way, looking forward to your Monday reveal! Have a great night!

  13. My sons love The Sandlot too. They walked around saying "THE GREAT BAMBINO" for 2 weeks.

I haven't watched any of these movies either. But if the clip is any indication, I would love them!

    Love,

  15. Sense & Sensibility is my absolute favorite! I could watch it over and over...haven't seen the new P & P yet though...my husband falls asleep during these types of movies, so we get them sparingly...lol!

I enjoyed the football headline too...Mamma's boy won...I placated my husband by watching the last 15 minutes with him...and pretended to enjoy it ;)

I just love the snippets of your daily life...your son and his baseball and your daughter yelling thanks to the mailman...what an amusing life you lead!!!!

  16. I absolutely love this! This is how it was at our house last night with the Superbowl not on. I watched Sense & Sensibility last night and then Miss Austen regrets on PBS with lots of candles lit ~ thanks for sharing. The Babe Ruth comment was so cute.

  17. I love all things Jane Austin, Sense and Sensibility included! Did you know PBS Masterpiece Theater is doing all 6 of her stories on Sunday nights?

I'm a House watcher, too--love Hugh Laurie. I've let the God comments from House pass over, knowing that it fits House's cynical character.
