All Tied Up in Knots

Worry is a roommate that I spend lots of time with. I don't particularly like this chick but she tags along to almost all my activities. She hangs with a bad crowd and a few of them always have to come with her! Not only do I have a un-thrilling 3rd wheel, she comes with baggage too(fear, disappointment, joy-kill, & sin).

I read this over at Pink Front Gate a few days ago and I've reminded myself about it's prose a few times already: Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success.

That last minute expulsion has worn on me but what man intends for evil, God intends for good. Dropping off the last bit of homework before his senior year starts and my heart hurts for what he doesn't know he's missing. My field of dreams for my son has grown weeds, but I'm slowly tending the garden (this is one job Neighbor Bob can't do). Let's watch this Summer and see how God uses this as an opportunity for success! I'll keep you posted. Here's some optimism to fill your watering can!

p.s. We knew David Cook was going to take it all along, didn't we?!!

  1. Thank you for leaving that comment. I needed to hear those words today. My oldest will be a senior this coming school year. He is so not ready to face the world yet... or is it me not ready. Are you ever ready to let them go? Pray, pray ,pray.... thats what I say... Susie H

  2. Joseph was in my mind as I was reading your post so I am so glad you quoted that verse. It is so special to know that an evil world can throw its worst at us and God can always cause us to walk in triumph. The circumstances may not change but they will fade away and the changes in us are permanent.

  5. I knew David would win it - how humble and supportive of everyone else was he? I am glad he won.
Thank you sis for posting these words today - I always look for ways to turn negatives into successes. Nevermind what others think - it's what you believe and think of yourself that matters. You are watering your own garden of beauty here - filling that watering can to the brim daily, so that we may never thirst for your friendship when we visit your blog :)
