Was anybody else sad to see Megan Corkrey leave American Idol? Her voice speaks to that secret gypsy side of me. :)

Shipping Station
Do you have a shipping station for your home office? Although my studio area is up in the Servant's Quarters, the shipping station is in the dinning room. It's just easier to weigh and label everything near the computer. So my very small effort at keeping the clutter contained is this:
A Vintage Baby Scale for weighing packages...
Lace covered coffee cans to hold bridal patterns (for wrapping),"Gratitude" ribbons and discount coupons (for their next purchase *wink*)...
An old whosawhatsit to hold the various postcards (I usually send one or two with a package)
Tags, buttons, doodads & pocket Bibles (because His word never goes out without producing results ~ Isaiah 55:11)

What's your shipping station like?
Friday Flea Market
I happened to visit a thrift shop a couple weeks ago just after someone brought in a batch of quilts. Well, of course, I'd had to get them for you!
Whatnots
We hit a flea market on Sunday afternoon and I found a few of these large old Mason jars ~ Perfect for Whatnots!
Mr. Blessing Creates...
Mr. Blessing has Metamorphasis Monday today! Stop over and see what he's up to... Romancing the Blog
My most favorite romantic image is hanging in my kitchen. I know, it's an unsual place for a kissy picture but you know how I love my kitchen (well, I love the pink stove... the cabinets still aren't painted and I don't feel anything akin to love for them). I don't remember where I got that old picture but feel free to use it if you like.
I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.
Have you ever read the book of Hosea? It's an incredible love story... a side-by-side comparison of a man/wife relationship and the God/us relationship. It's the story of an unfaithful wife whose husband continues to seek her out, bring her home and love her.

Let's remember on this day of expressing our love to be the faithful bride of God.
Many blessings of love to you....

Whatnot Wednesday
It seemed like a fitting day to just share some whatnots. Wanna play along? I was thinking of making it an informal thingy hosted over at French Cupboard. In case you aren't familiar with WHATNOTS, here's the freedictionary.com definition... Noun - miscellaneous rarity, something unusual -- perhaps worthy of collecting
It's maniacal, I know, but if you're interested leave me your vote and I'll try to get it somewhat organized.

In the meantime, feel free to peek at the UnCommon whatnots over at the French Cupboard.
(My kids are always losing pencils because apparently once the tip is dull, it's ok to throw them at each other or behind the tv, wherever... So I've tied them up in groups of two ~the pencils, not the kids~ and they don't get another set until the first two are returned to me for sharpening. If nothing else, it saves the hassle of digging pencils out of the curtains.)

Hop on over to the French Cupboard or Vintage Journal to see my latest hair-brained piece of decor.

Unconsidered Trifles
I was just reading a 1919 article over at Brocante Home about how a married couple came upon the notion that although the husband was the bread winner and the bill payer, it was the wife who controlled the household spending. Learning prudence, living without the previously unconsidered trifles, turning her home into a business... made their lives and homes a delightful source of interest.
I think the words of a 1919 housewife reflect a seed that has sprouted over the years as a thought, but in 2009 is blooming and flowered. Many households are today finding themselves dependant on one rather unsuspecting income. Housewives spanning the globe are finding that their pretty "hobbies" now add to the bill purse... actually contribute to paying for groceries and filling the gas tank. We're scaling back the budget so we can live doing what we love. Arm-in-arm working jointly with our husbands, within our budgets. Sure, we've always been about making our homes lovely on a budget. It's been a popular theme. But we're suddenly about creating the ambience in our homes, not with linens and decor but with unfettered joy. Old fashioned indeed, but not a step backwards even a bit.
Airing the Laundry
Have I told you that I'm really not a very social person? Last Sunday night (a week ago) as we were crawling into bed, my husband said to me, "I looked at the calendar... You're gonna hate this week." He knows that I'm a homebody. And we had one function after another every single day last week. Ya know, by jig, at the end of each one of them during the car ride home, I commented about how much fun I had... How I was glad to have gone afterall. Surprising, isn't it? How God knows what new and different things will refresh us.Having said that... please pray with me as this week brings lots of refreshment =) I know, I've been Miss Suspense lately but I promise I'll air the laundry in the next few days.

By the way, did you see that Mr. Blessing got an award from Jillian's Pages for his post? Thank you, Jillian. While most guys might think our blog awards are silly, Steve actually checked your site often in anticipation =)
