This was so precious, I just have to share it... Yesterday we attended a wedding. The bride and groom did something so unique... They washed each others feet. Beautifully symbolic of their willingness to serve each other. Don't you wish you could live out your marriage, your working relationships, your friendships with both parties being a servant?! Isn't that amazingly lovely?!

Their wedding decor was all black and white. Being an artistic couple, they didn't light a candle. Instead one poured white sand and the other poured black sand into one large container. They had a white cake and a dark cake. I'm not sure though if they knew that the black frosting was going to leave all the guests with BLACK TEETH!! Just imagine a room full of adults with lips some shade short of death and everyone laughing hysterically, showing off their gray gums and all!
As a super sweet treat for all of you, here are some free banners that I love! And I promise you won't have black teeth or gain a pound! =) Special thanks to Cupcakes on Display for working with me on this!!

  6. I just heard about another wedding that they washed the feet of each other- it must be a new thing to do in weddings. What a great symbol of a husband and wife. I love your blog headers -thank you for sharing them and all that you share on your blog. You bless us each day!

  18. I spent some time catching up on your blog today. It's always delightful to visit here. The wedding must have been truly beautiful and meaningful. The thought of black teeth gave me a smile~which is good for my allergy clogged medicine head~you know what I'm talking about. Loved seeing the little birdie again. He's residing in such elegance now ;-)

  20. I am new to your blog/by way of another who mentioned your banners in her own. I hope to attempt this myself as I am real creative but lack time to try my own at this time..I am not a techy. I will try one of yours somehow soon. I appreciate your generosity! But, I am also pleasently surprised by your blog w/your verses and your profile of mentioning Christ in your life. I will return soon!

  22. That's awesome, washing each others feet. I recently went to my brother's wedding. A blended family. Right before the vows they shared communion with each other and then Jon, while beautiful music was playing, ministered communion to the 6 kids (10-24 years old.) It was just beautiful. It just showed me that they took this so seriously.

    Love your blog!

  23. Wow ! Lovely banners ~ stunning photos! Thank you so much for sharing them ~ very generous. I have downloaded my favorites and look forward to updating my blog very soon. I love the vintage hats too!

FYI ~ I know how to change the wallpaper on this blogger template, if you ever wish to revise that too. I started with the same template and switched it over to green. I think I will use your green hat banner to go with my new green wallpaper background. Thanks again, Karen.

    Lovely blog!

  25. WE have VERY good friends that now live in your "neck of the woods"...that were married down here a few years back.
They had FOUR ministers do four different parts of their wedding....they too did a "foot washing" and it was awesome. WE all bawled our heads off. The wedding was as unique as they are and very inspiring.
    Be blessed

It sounds like a beautiful humbling symbolic way to begin a life long journey together.
