Back Porch

I had a wretchedly sore neck yesterday! All because of the back porch. Now that we are temporarily having church services on Saturday evenings, my Sunday mornings are confusing. It's wonderful to relax on the porch in the morning sun! And a 70 degree, sunny Sunday morning before the kids get up, out on the back porch, is so, so lovely! However, the porch had gotten so dirty from the rain and wind and kids and dogs, etc. that I didn't even want to sit out there anymore. After debating with myself if it was socially acceptable to clean when everyone else in the Christian community would be at church celebrating the Sabbath, I gave in. So those who awoke after me on Sunday morning found all the furniture from the porch sitting on the lawn - and me, in my pj's, with a water hose and a soapy mop scrubbing every surface that had paint which wouldn't peel under pressure! Of course, it was the perfect time to rearrange the newly cleaned items. Though yesterday I paid for my frantic cleaning spree, early this morning I walked out to the back porch still a bit bleery-eyed and fell in love with my back porch again!
