Needful Expressions

Please watch both parts - one explains the other...

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in You
I trust in You
I believe You're my Healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe You're my Portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need
My Healer, You're my Healer
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

206) That everything belongs to you and you know what it takes to heal us, to fill us, to break us. What's this list about?)

Vintage Ephemera

Vintage Ephemera - It could very well be a diagnosis. It sounds a bit like a medical term, doesn't it?! It can sure take over my house like an illness =)

This Show & Tell might be a little like hanging out my paperie laundry! I've posted before about my bizarre affinity for paper and since I'm still unpacking from vacation, I'm just going to share a few things that are currently out on my dinning room table (and it's a good excuse to not show you the business end of my ephemera mess)...

Love those old gals!

Sheet music is difficult to sew with! Huh - who knew?!

Any other homeschool moms starting to hunt and gather for the Fall?

Here's a little something I came across - New Ideas for Your Vintage Ephemera ('cause I don't have enough hair-brained ephemera ideas-lol!)

My latest hair-brained ephemera project (scroll down one post).

This is one of my favorite vintage ephemera pieces. Mom's old Bible - with her handwritten notes. I've been focused this week on a verse in Psalms 139 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Is there anything more endearing than knowing He is both behind us and ahead of us?! He's given us the only scrapbook ephemera that has always been fade resistant... His word will endure forever.

Big, big thanks to Little Pink Studio for hosting our Show & Tell Sunday this week!!
Sunday Note: Because the Bible says that honoring the Sabbath is sign of the covenant between God and us - forever, I take Sundays as a day of rest. To honor Him, my Sunday posts are prepared the day before and any questions or orders that come through on Sundays will be responded to on Monday. Thank you so much for visiting.

Lawn Chairs

I was just minding my own business, looking hither and yon, when I spied her out the corner of my little eye (actually, my eyes are normal size, but my glasses back then were oh-so-chic plaid print frames about the size of drugstore readers).
PINK VELVET NEEDLEPOINT!

She and I just HAD to be roommates. And she's been one of my favorites ever since. But then yesterday I opened up a package from shopgoodwill.com (that's my secret shopping sorce so don't tell anyone) and

These roses 16x20 fell into my lap! I had forgotten about an auction that I won - love it when that happens (especially when was $14 with shipping and already paid for)!

If you would like to see more pictures of my silly chair in the front yard, they are in this flickr group

Big, big thanks to Birds of a Feather for hosting our Show & Tell Sunday this week!!

He said to them, "Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old. (Matt 13:52)

Transformed

Is there anything I own that's NOT a trash to treasure transformation?! There's always some project waiting in the garage for me to work on but I rarely take photos of the "before" so I'll have to just show you the "afters". I love this little cart on wheels! I use it everyday. Of course I had to add a flower or two =)

My best find, of course, is the pink stove!

This old door is waiting to become a counter top. It and the sofa were waterlogged on the curb last Fall.

All dried out and I only had to put some pillows on it!
The old bed we got on one of buying trips up north (toward Door County).

And it's matching dresser - I use it as a buffet. (ugh - still hate that wallpaper - I gotta paint!)

The tall cabinet on the left is another Goodwill find (shh.. it's bursting at the seams with fabric)

This old oven top makes a great shelf!

Last Summer hubby made an outdoor dressing room for the kids. It has a working portable potty so when the kids are swimming, they can use this instead of tracking their sloppy wet bods through the house. I guess it's not really a trash to treasure but it's definitely a gem to me!

The greatest trash to treasure example at my house is myself! I could say that I used to be lonely and abused and God gave me a husband who's my best friend. I could say I used to cheat on my ex and God saved me from myself. I could tell you all the things I used to be but they were just outward signs of the struggle that was inside. When I finally gave in, He rescued me - transformed me! Here's a word you can take to heart and depend on: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. I'm proof—Public Sinner Number One—of someone who could never have made it apart from sheer mercy. And now he shows me off—evidence of his endless patience—to those who are right on the edge of trusting him forever. (written by the Apostle Paul)

Storing It Up

Welcome to the gabled attic.

Ok, it's really just a spare room in our old farmhouse but it's all mine so I can call it whatever I want =)

It's a sewing room, photography studio, storage area, and my creative catchall room.

Old baby crib rails hold the overflow.

Rosy is the keeper of the gabled attic.

And Roxy, the mannequin lamp, holds my specialty ribbons. She's a little jealous that Rosy is in charge of so much more than her. Roxy knows she's brighter than Rosy and thinks she could handle the job much better.

Maybe I should promote her to the website storage room...

But the buttons don't need as much supervision as all those other wild notions. =) How do you store all your treasures?

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. I love that Blessings follow Obedience.

Vessels

Do you have an instigator at your home?

Here's my culprit! If you can imagine, 10 years ago I didn't have the slightest interest in tea cups or tea pots or anything of the like. Hubby and I wandered into an antique store while out of town for a wedding. I spied an old set of Johnson Bros Rose Chintz and I was hooked!

Then there was the box of my absolute favorites that mom found at a gargage sale for $8

Look at those chippy roses! Nowdays I have a mix of patterns.

And I don't like to buy things that we don't need so we use every bit of our vintage china.
Even broken pieces.

I figure even chores can be lovely, right?!

My latest purchase... these old plain vanilla bowls that are HUGE and wonderful for displaying notions or baking brownies.

Vintage Linens

Can you pick a favorite out of all your vintage linens? I was at the flea market that thrills me the most on Saturday so I thought I share with you some of the vintage linens that crossed my path.
There's lots of great ideas out there for getting spots out of linens but grams and I agree that lemon juice and old fashion sunshine work the best =)

A wife of noble character... She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. ...Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
