She was a teenager during the depression when she left home and became a live-in housecleaner/cook.
She married young and had four children.
She owned an apple orchard.
She went south with us during the Winter months in our rainbow colored bus.
She took me in when my boy and I needed a refuge.
She stayed up all night with me, swapping stories.
She held my babies and gave me helpful tips.
She cupped their faces in her hands and told them each how she loved them.
And last week she told me goodbye.
We hugged and promised, "I'll see you later."

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! What a joy to know that our loved ones that pass on were prepared. Have you read the book "Heaven is Real" written about a three year old boy's visit to heaven. A must read. Your Gram already looks like an angel.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are filled with tears reading this. To know how much she loved and cared for you...what else can one ask for in life? I only knew one of my grandmothers and I knew that she loved me. What a blessing yours was to you- xo Diana
