All my Eggs in One Basket

I've never been one of those all-your-eggs-in-one-basket kind of girls.  I don't want to narrow my focus to one thing (ie: sewing, crafting, photography, restoring old things, etc).  I love the variety!  One day I want to sew.  The next day I want to refinish a cabinet.  I can't imagine waking up everyday to face the exact same work projects that I had the day before (go ahead and say it, I'm spoiled).

So this week when I jumped from journals to tea-dying a lampshade to "papering" a room divider, I wondered if there's a better job in the world than what I get to do.

My daughter played with her American Girl paper dolls on the floor beside me as I cut pages from old reader books for the journals.

My youngest son and I worked together on the divider and when we were done, we sat in the middle of the mess we made in the living room and ate fudgepops.

The details are so much more rewarding than the paycheck!
It's been a while but I just had to take a minute to count the blessings of working at home.

  1. That sounds like a great life to me! I can never stick with one thing either, I was made to flit from one idea and project to another. I love it that way! I love the fudgsicles in the middle of the mess :) t. xoxoxoox

  3. Well, I'm not lucky enough to have little ones at home to enjoy fudgsicles with, but I have to say Amen! to being thankful for the ability to work from home! The freedom is most amazing and of course being able to do something we love is the icing on the cake!!

  5. sounds like our days around here--except for the "work from home" part. i love having my kids home and the freedom to hop from one project to another as our interests determine. that room divider is SO pretty. do you have to grit your teeth to deconstruct the books for such projects? it's so painful for me to do that! :)
    happy homeschooling!

  8. I am new to your blog and just recently joined GFC. You have no idea how encouraging this is to me. I am a very eclectic project gal who has so many ideas and so little time.

I am trying to prioritize and figure out how to make it work as a business.

Does this type of eclecticism really work for a serious home business?

I've been struggling through this and would really LOVE your thoughts!

    Pretty please?!
