Thank you for all your prayers, emails and comments! I can't tell you how much they comforted me.
For those of you who don't know, my oldest son (age 20) was diagnosed with serotonin syndrome on April 1st after begin taken to the ER, non-responsive with seizure type spasms. Serotonin syndrome is caused by too much serotonin in the brain. We had a very scary couple of days in the ICU, followed by a week of unusual behavior. He is doing much better now, though he has physical therapy for muscle loss due to the seizures and he tires very easily. But his brain and kidney functions are good!

And his mom? It's an experience that I'm sure will remain one my worst memories. Even up to last Sunday, I was feeling a bit "frail" but things are settling down and we are getting back into our normal pattern.
I think I may have gone from red to gray in one week.
Parenting definitely requires something more potent than 28 day hair color!
Thank you for having been there with kind words and prayers. ((HUGS))
Oh Polly. I'll be saying my prayers for you and I hope he heals fast.
ReplyDeletedon't feel bad - having a 10 1/2 lb. baby puts a few gray hairs on a woman (lol)
ReplyDeleteI know we already talked. but he's in our prayers...
Praise God, they figured out what was wrong and that he will fully recover!
ReplyDeleteGod is Good!:)
Counting my blessings everyday too,
Sonya

ReplyDeletenice to hear the good news about your son, and i hope he continues to feel better! i've got quite a crop of scraggly grays popping up lately myself...hmmm, they were not there before my daughter was born... ;)
ReplyDeleteSo glad and thankful to hear that he is doing well and healing. Take care as we continue to lift up your family.

It is so good to hear that he is doing better! Yes, our kiddos can give us gray air! You are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteIt is not easy to be a mom. It takes a lifetime to be full educated.

Thank God he is making a recovery... and my Prayers continue to be with you and your Family. Having a sick child is one of the most stressful things a Parent can endure. When our Children or Grandchildren are going through something my Heart and Soul aches for them and I would rather it be me. Do whatever you need to do for yourself to keep balanced and well.

I have six children and ten grandbabies...and having one of them get sick is one of those thoughts that scares me. I will keep you in my prayers and may our Heavenly Father bless your son, you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest just started allergy shots and it's wiped her out. Hate when our babies are sick. Seratonin Syndrome is always in the back of my mind because I take a Seratonin inhibitor. Praying for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteA mothers work is never done, thank heavens for that. Take care of yourself as well, and get your hair colored. Best of luck with your son, your in my thoughts and prays.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been so scary for all of you! No matter how old our children get, they will always be our CHILDREN.
ReplyDeleteLast year, my little granddaughter - only eighteen months old at the time - developed seizures. The first trip to the hospital, they couldn't figure out what was wrong and sent us all home. After the third trip, within a week, it was determined she had Swine Flu. It was such a frightening ordeal, and we felt so helpless as we watched that little body writhing out of control!
I pray that your son will have a full recovery and be restored to perfect health.
Blessings,
