Na-Da Farm Barn Sale

Ok, now before you fall over from the gorgeousness of it all, you should know that the Na-Da sale really was in a barn and it really had great prices and you're going to want to be there for the next one!
Anne Marie's Hay House
Don't you wish you could live there?!

And the food was....
Just as gorgeous

My cinnamon rolls never... ever... look this yummy!

Do you ever wonder how these inspiring ideas hit?

I've saved some great pictures of the sale for our next issue of PORCH Magazine (hopefully it'll be ready to purchase in a week or so. I'll announce it here and on the PORCH blog). But if you'd like to see more, head over to Na-Da Farmlife, or Parisienne Farmgirl or Sanctuary Art and take a look at their pics.

The One That Got Away

I meant to show you these pictures a couple days ago but the week got away from me! Look at this cool old table that we saw at Pec Thing last weekend. I really wanted to sand it down to the naked wood and give it a weathered, aged look. If it weren't for that crazy gorgeous Victorian cornice I got and the upcoming Na-Da Farm sale, I would have been in mourning that I lost this one.

And the bench has storage too. I might have cried over it...

Except that this weekend was the Na-Da Farm barn sale! I'm so glad that I saved a bit of money by not buying that table so that I could spend it at Na-Da! I'll share some more pictures tomorrow. Wait until you see Anne Marie's Hay House and the Patisserie!!
(And for those who know me best... Yes, I bought that Room For Rent sign)

Vintage White Wednesday

Mr. Blessing gave me a belated Mother's Day Gift!
Saturday we ventured out to the Pec Thing Flea Market. So I got a day at the flea market and this chippy old Victorian cornice! It's over 8 feet wide. We looked like the Clampett's on the drive home.

Here's a bit of vintage white from the Pec Thing...

Next post I'll show you what we almost bought!
In the meantime...

Lovely Blogs NON-party

Update:  We have a new 2013 collection - Please stop by and add your blog link!

I'm testing the waters...
It's been raining here all week so it seemed like a good time to try out something new. I found this new linky system and I'd like to try it out. Well, it's new to me. Perhaps you've seen it around before but I haven't and I'd like to give a whirl.

Would you mind testing it out with me? I know, there's supposed to be a blog party or a theme or some reason for a bunch of supremely lovely blogs to link up. But since we aren't having a party, I think we should just make a proclamation that we are a bunch of lovely bloggers! If you have a lovely blog, sign up below. And let's take a moment to visit each other too...
Here's the first collection of lovely blogs that began back in 2007:
Let's start a new Collection of Lovely Blogs

On The Up Side

It all started a little more than a week ago when we ventured out to our historic neighborhood sales. I look forward to it every year. Alley after alley of vintage garages & carriage houses filled with treasures.

If you have followed my blog for very long, you may have noticed that I take a picture from this same spot every year. It's my favorite of all the stops.

We had lunch just outside of a hugenormous (that'a word, right?!) Victorian house. Every window is done in yummy lace.

After lunch we all seemed to tire out so we called it a day and went home to rest.

And a few hours later we had a house full of throwing up people. And it continued for a week!

Ending with my youngest being in the hospital.

So, we're moving a little slow here at the Blessing Farmhouse but we're finally moving again. Slow or not, we're grateful to be getting well. I am playing catch-up with email, shipping orders out and also mailing some of the gifts from the Alice party

On the up side, we had lots of family time!

Weathered

A couple weeks ago I found this super cool, rusty, old lawn chair at our local salvage shop. It's heavy like you would not believe but for $5 I just couldn't leave it sitting there among all the old desks and partitions. It needed to be in its own environment.

I love how it can lounge or be a chair!

And I love the weathered arms!
But as much as I love the springs and the rust, it needs some cushions in order to be useful. I'm a little indecisive about whether I should make them or buy them. I'm picky about this stuff, don't ya know. I want something that can handle the Summer rain and kids jumping over it. So I guess until I find the right cushions, it'll have to sit as is. But hey, at least it's not naked in front of its peers amymore. *smiles* Any ideas for weather-proof cushions?
