For the last several weeks my daughter and I have been sharing a girls night on Tuesdays. The guys are all at football practice so we have the entire place to ourselves. We eat things we shouldn't and we talk about things that are silly. One night Miah made up the sofa with special pillows and lots of little presents - just for me. Last night we shared my favorite "thinking" spot, a bag of mini-marshmallows and Webkinz cards. Oh thank you, Father, for Tuesdays!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo, too!

Oh how sweet. You are so blessed to have a daughter to share these special times with. With boys, as you well know, your special times are different but special none the less!! Be blessed my friend, Theresa
ReplyDeleteI , too , feel blessed to have a daughter to have those special moments with. Not a day goes by that we don't talk. I think the older our daughter is the closer we have become. And thats Priceless.Sue
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all the time with the children that you possibly can - squeeze out moments that you thought were unsqueezable! I was a single mom when my kids were little; we would have Friday night "sleepovers" in the living room - blankets piled in the middle of the floor, M&Ms and soda or Kool-aid to drink and their favorite movies to watch. One thing that is rewarding now is to know they do the same with their families!

I think it is the simplest pleasures that I remember most about my parents. This is sweet.
ReplyDeleteDo you read Mary Englebreit Home Companion?
They have lost their publisher and may go out of print :(
That is precious! I know you both will cherish this time.
ReplyDeleteHow sacred!!!~
