Candle In The Window

In this season of storms & tornados... Did you know that if you should lose power and can't get to the emergency candles...

A Frito's corn chip will do in pinch?! Aren't you glad to know they have that much oil in them =)

  1. Hi. That is a good tip. We had a power outage a little while ago that lasted 5 hours which is quite a lot for Australia I think. Candles were the first things I put in my new house, as once we moved into a house and had a power out on the first night.

  5. What a dilemma! We should stock Fritos in case of emergency... but no so much for the benefit of our health! LOL! Who knew? And you discovered this amazing little tip, how?

  7. Hi Sis! How cool is that? I mean, not that it's good to have Fritos soaked with Oil (which I eat with a can of bean dip all the time) but it's good to know this in a pinch! You are just full of hints, tips, information and what a wealth of knowledge your blog is! I am going to go light up a Frito just because it looks fun. haha!

  11. I guess that goes to show you that the frito is probably put to better use with your suggestion than consuming it!
    Interesting.
    Have a great day!

  12. I'm completely shocked by this information but I find myself justifying having them in the house now....ummm, will chocolate chip cookies double as anything?

  13. Hi
As one of your other readers said, this is "helpful and mildly disturbing"...I am a Fire Inspector and did not know this about corn chips. Thanks for the tip. Here's my safety reminder for all: Candles (and now possibly Fritos?) are the leading cause of all structural fires and fire related deaths in the USA. Use caution and do not leave a burning candle unattended. Everyone buying a candle in my gift shop gets a 15 hour lecture :)

  14. Unreal! Last time we had a family sit in the basement with us during a tornado watch...we ate Fritos!
Sorry about your crash...you and Beachy in the same week! I hope it isn't contagious.

  15. Well that is downright disgusting! Think of our arteries! From now on I will just eat my friend chicken without that side of corn chips and my french onion dip will be eaten with a spoon! hehehe Thats pretty amazing when you think about it. Thanks for sharing but with my poor eating habits, if theres no candles around, Ill just light up one of my earlobes.
