Fostering Inspiration

Yesterday morning I had great intentions of posting pictures of my goodies from The Empty Attic but Mom showed up early saying that Dad said we were to take the day off, go out of town and go shopping (lunch was on him). Apparently, my parents think I've gotten too busy and needed a day of fun. So we packed up the kids and headed into Wisconsin for Goodwilling. Well, how could I say no to that?!

Let me slip in 2 facts from the random/wierd facts list that I'm dragging out... Though I often write about my mom and I'm often galavanting about with her, I'm actually a daddy's girl. He had my heart first, showed me how a Heavenly Father loves, protected me, always made sure that I had a $5 bill in my pocket (just in case), and still checks the oil in my truck! Fact #2, 15 years ago my parents fostered and have since adopted 3 children who are the ages of my own children so when we take a day out, it's somewhat of an ordeal!

And now back to our regularly scheduled show and tell =) Here's a few things that I picked up over the weekend...

Don't be surprised if you spy one or two of these at the Friday Flea Market. Of course, you know already that I'm SOOOO keeping those big ol' spools of lace! =)

And there were even two packages in the mail! Shabby In The City sent me this. All my favorite things and some blank tags so I can craft myself silly. You have to stop over not just for her fabulous flea goodies but because she HAD A DREAM that you'll love! Phyllis, you're such a delightful friend - not because of the little gift but because you're a gift!

And all this lusciousness is from The Antique Paperie (if you haven't bookmarked it yet, she changed her blog name to The Antique Cafe). Every little morsel of her scrumptious packages is so beautiful I want to cry. I spent my evening last night giggling and being teary-eyed! My husband asked me, "So how do you know her and what's she like?" and I said, "She's like all the good parts of every friend I ever had."

Haven't you made some amazing friends during this blogging adventure?!! You are all so fun. I love getting to know each of you. I wish I had more time in the days for chatting and emailing.

Well, I have orders to ship and I'm suddenly feeling inspired to do them up all lovely. If I can get any cleaning done, tomorrow I'll show you a little bit of my nest.

  1. Hi Sis! I love the Hot Pink Feathery hat! I have seen so many gorgeous antique hats and I never stop to buy them, but I think I will start! The Spools of lace are fabulous, and so is the story of your mom and dad.
One of the definitions for the word Treasure means: To hold dear, a Prize, a Collection of precious things. You are all 3 to me. A glittery treasure, who is precious, because you are YOU. In the words of Maya Angelou: "Life is a gift, and I try to respond with grace and dignity". Your post just made my day!
You are a dear friend sis - xo Sher
