As with anything that we bloggers put our minds to, I figure that if 700 is a milestone that this post should have some "muchness" to it. But what should that muchness be? How do I determine to make this post different? I've had lots of ideas...
On KLOVE yeserday they were asking listeners to call in if someone blessed them over the weekend. So yesterday I was going to write about how you all have blessed me through blogging. On Sunday I was having lunch with my mom and we were talking about the miraculous healing of my sister. So I was going to post about miracles and how God has healed the relationship between my sister and I during the time that I've been blogging. The day before that I was shopping and found all sorts of things to use for creating. I was going to post about how bloggers inspire me to be more creative... even when I feel dried up. On Friday I caught a precious moment with my 12 year old son. I was going to post about being captured and honored and near tears as we both sang along to a praise song on the radio.
It's only now as I sit here putting it all in front of me on the screen that I'm realizing that you and blogging have permeated my everyday. All that I do becomes a topic for the blog. Every moment is a possible post. Every photo I take is with you in mind. I'm not alone in a homeschool victory or defeat any more. Every book that I devour in the quiet of the night... I dog-ear the pages that I want to share with you. When I'm awake, praying in the night, I know that one of you is out there doing the same. It's because of your presence here that I put some extra thought into my day... choose to make lovely not just make due... remember that I'm held accountable... that it's all a gift from God... that blog friends ARE real friends.
YOU are the muchness of this blog!
What a sweet post. We are glad to be a part of your blogging. Carla

ReplyDeleteSo well said! I love what you said about making lovely instead of just making due, that is what blogging has done for me also. I find so much inspiration from bloggers like you that I feel compelled to create and make something beautiful, even if it's something simple. Congratulations on your 700th post and please continue to bless us with more! Theresa
ReplyDeleteThat was perfectly said. That was a gift to me, so that I can be nudged in another direction through my day, perhaps changed in a way that will last a lifetime. To think on your words, to make a difference, to praise God for my blessings which are many and often. Thank you for the gift of your heartfelt words. They will go a long way!

If you just turned 700 that surely would be a grand milestone so why not 700 posts? I think you deserve to relish in this for a bit as we are enjoying your beautifully worded post above.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think that blogger friends are even more real than the friends we have in our everyday life since bloggers seem to be able to share their soul with so many!
God Bless you for your blogsite and all of our beautiful sentiments.
From just one of your forever blog buddies!
Woops I meant: "God Bless you for your blogsite and all of **YOUR** (not our) beautiful sentiments.
ReplyDeletejust a silly lil typo
Happy 700th Polly! I am beginning to understand that it isn't the number on the post that is a big deal, although 700 posts, wow! The thing to celebrate is the way blogging broadens us. Teaches us new things, allows us to teach others. Yours is a great blog and I have watched it change and grow over the last few years. You have come a long way since the beginning. Congratulations again on all your growing and sharing:>)
