Around the House

2nd post for today. Since the pounding in my head has lulled, I wanted to share a couple photos from around the house. I'm quickly becoming a blog addict, aren't I?! I just love the granny boots that my husband bought for me! I can't wait for the cooler weather so I can wear them (though I'm still lamenting the end of Summer). And about these pretty little things in the window sill... When I was little my great grandmother (she was 94) gave me an oval shaped one just like that green one in middle. I don't know how I could have lost it but I did and I've been a little sad about it because it's the only physical thing that I had of hers. But mom found this one for me and gave it to me this week (in my bag of goodies). The pink one was a gift for Mother's Day and the white one was thrifted from Sal's Boutique (Salvation Army). I think I'll move them to the sewing room to hold the bits and bobs. Well, we're going to get dinner and curl up (all 6 of us) to watch a movie - yes, that really is the birthday dinner of my choosing =) Tomorrow I'll post those pictures from the store (my teenager helped me get them off the cell phone).

  1. Love the crystal chandelier bulb covers!! Happy 38th (turned 38 myself in April). Still trying to work on blogging 101!! beau charme

  2. Happy Birthday!!!!!! I am 53 and believe me when I say, every year gets better and better!

    Love the little containers!

  3. Thank you to everyone for your sweet birthday wishes! Just had dinner and then an hour to wander around Borders while hubby chased the kids! Oh, by the by, the chandelier bulb covers were from Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic in Chicago but I've seen them on ebay much cheaper. In fact, I think they come in pink... Blessings...

  4. I LOVE granny boots...well, cowboy boots too. If you like granny boots, ya gotta check out the Spiegel website. They have some grey suede ruffle grannies that are TDF.

  5. Oooo... Thanks Charity! I'll have to check that out. I think that hubby may have gotten these at Spiegel last season. I just haven't had chance to wear them yet...and I like how they look on that old mantle.

Something worth sharing...
