Healing

We're in the thick of Winter here in the Midwest!
Doesn't it seem that around every corner our friends & co-workers are falling prey to illness?!  My daughter had an appointment with the pediatric neurologist last week (migraines) and the nurses separated the waiting room - healthy kids on one side - sick kids on the other.  We've had our share of coughs and colds at our house, even influenza.  A month or so ago, I couldn't seem to get one kid better before another one was coming down with something.

The Lord reminded me recently of that verse in Isaiah 53 - "...by His stripes we are healed."  I know that it's referring more to spiritual healing and believe me, I fervently pray for spiritual healing in my children, in myself. But lately I've also been praying those words for physical healings, for financial healings, for relational healings.

And God is faithful.
I am delighted to tell you that after 4 years of unemployment, odd-jobs, and part time work, Steve is back to full time employment!!  It's not in his field. It's not what we would've chosen as a career change 4 years ago. It's not glamorous.
But oh is it beautiful!

  2. Sorry the family has been ill. We went through all that in Dec. It was aweful, both kinds of flu, back and forth, back and forth. I know exactly how you feel, my hubby was out of work for years too, finally found a steady job, not glamorous, not his field and def not what he used to make, but it puts food on the table. I'm glad yours was able to find something. Wishing you the best all around. Hugs!

  14. We had to take the G-Son to the Pediatric Neurologist too, Migraines, brought on by Puberty. Didn't realize it was so common until the Doc told me... hope your Daughter is feeling better with treatment? The G-Son is still incapacitated by his headaches, but he doesn't have them as frequently now that he's on a treatment plan. And yes, this has been a harsh Winter Healthwise for a lot of people. The Man is currently Hospitalized with Pneumonia and had a Heart Attack as well... the Grand-Daughter is on breathing treatments every 3 hours around the clock due to Respiratory distress... I've been the only Healthy one in the bunch! So... guess whose been playing Nurse Nightingale and not getting much sleep?! I think here in the AZ Desert our problem has been wild Weather swings... one moment its in the mid 80's and Sunny... then it drops down to 30-40 degrees with high wind and rain! Sending Healing Energies your way...

Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
