Twigs & Twine

Despite any impression that my lack of posts may have given, we have not fallen off the end of the earth.  We've been getting ready for the official beginning of our market season, finishing up the school year with the kids and starting a new adventure!  A very good friend is opening her second brick and mortar and has asked Mr. Blessing and I to set up shop with her.  Although I hesitated at first because we are already so busy, I can see this easily fitting into our lives.  We get the best of both worlds; a place to do what we love and someone else willing to manage the day-to-day running of the shop (Can you imagine homeschooling while running a store?!).  It's the first time in many years that we will have place, or part of a place, to plant our feet.   That means if you miss us at one of our weekend events, you can still shop with us.

It's located in a sweet old town, surrounded by loads of antique shops.  And just a short country drive from all the major cities in our area.  I feel like God put this blessing right in our laps.

We have begun filling this historic bank building with lots of fun stuff!  Over the next month we'll be packing it with great vintage and handmade pieces.

And we're stocking our open-air shoppes too for our weekend markets!  We have some lovely new items for this season.

One of the benefits of homeschooling is that whether it's school work, housework or job related work, we do it all as a family.  I'm not saying that we don't have arguments or need our individual space (homeschooling is not for the weak!) but we get to experience life a little differently than the average family. The kids love coming with us to our market events.  They have been able to be part of every facet of our business.   It's so important to me that Steve and I are raising our kids, not the school district or the after-care program.  Though I understand how sometimes necessity requires that we work outside the home, I'm so grateful that our family has been able to do life the way we do it.   How amazing that God continues to provide avenues of income while letting me have my little dream.

Twigs & Twine won't have its grand opening until June but you are welcome to stop in before then to shop as we stock and to see all the girls at Twigs &  Twine.

  16. Lovely! How much fun that must be! We are closing a chapter with an antique shop/mall but looking forward to see what God will bring to our future. I've been thinking about starting a "Vintage Market" or a "Farm Chicks" type thing here in Central PA but I am not sure where to start. This could be my future!
