Granny Boots or Cowgirl Boots?

I have recently come to wonder exactly what kind of gal I am. Fashion-wise, I mean.

I've always been a granny boots, old fashioned lady but I was reminded recently that when I was a little girl I used to love my cowboy boots and riding the ponies around our small pasture. And I DO absolutely heart my studded Frye shortie cowgirl boots! They're kinda girly - in a rough sorta way.
In fact, I've discovered that I have a bit of a collection of both styles. Aren't these two very opposite styles?? How did this happen?

What's YOUR preference - Granny boots or Cowgirl boots?

  1. ...LOL!!!
I choose...both!! Why does it have to be just one?? Everyday WE choose who we wish to be ~ sometimes we are a butterfly, graceful & beautiful and other days, we are simply, `Rella. (as in the other side of Cinderella!! If you wish, you can read about her here:

    great post Polly :)

  5. I'm rather a hippie/tomboy. The girliest shoes I wear are my pink converse high tops. Mostly though it's sandals/flip-flops in the summer and my Doc Martins in the winter. Of course I go barefoot as much as I can.....

But there is always more than one woman inside any woman.

  6. HI there...I found your blog when I was doing a search for free blog backgrounds and headers. I saw your site and I borrowed one of the header's since they were FREE. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'd had some trouble with my previous blog background so I picked a new one, but I didn't like the matching headers, so I picked one of yours ;) :) I had to crop it quite a bit to get it to fit!!!! ..but now it looks nice. You can stop by and take a look if you want. Thanks for doing this. I joined your blog here because it's really cute, too!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  11. I still remember my cowgirl boots from when I was a little girl, I was so upset when I outgrew them.
Love all the laces in the Granny Boots and that little heel.
    I couldn't wear either these day's
    flats and comfortable for me.
    Wonderful creating space, BTW!!

  13. I love them both! As long as they're boots! The vintage walking and bicycling boot from the late 1800s is coming back this fall in a lot of the forecasting trend reports! You'll be right on the money with those boots! And cowboys never go out of style!

  14. I love your blog!!

As for the boots-I own all kinds, but, I'd have to say it depends on what the situation calls for~ Although, cowboy boots can be worn with everything, granny boots can't.
    I'd have to say cowboy boots~ :)

  15. Im probably a granny boot girl, they are just SO vintage and go with so many things. However I have always wondered if I would actually look as cool as many other girls look in cowboy boots especially when worn with frilly skirts etc. Should probably give it a try!

  18. I choose both too! Think of the old west during the Victorian era! Think Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke. She would have owned both don't you think??? It's kind of the Magnolia Pearl look don't you think???

  22. I so hope you have another container inside those beautiful boots to hold the dirt.
They are too nice to leave out in the weather, but I'd love to see them on my porch.

  23. I love both - no way could I decide. But I like you, find that I have a hard time choosing my 'fashion-style.' I'm afraid living in the D.C. area when one goes off the beaten path in their style of dress it raises some eye brows- which I've had my share of;)
