So here's a funny story...
Last March my husband intercepted an email from one of the editors at Romantic Homes asking about my website. Apparently Mr. Blessing thought that if they liked the website, surely they would love to hear more about me. So he told them more. Imagine the all scary things that could've come up! He emailed back and forth with one of editors and then came to me one day saying, "Romantic Homes is sending some questions over. You need to reply..."I'm so honored to be part of the Christmas issue! It's due to hit the shelves a week from today.
And if, like me, you're wondering what manner of bizarre conversation it took to convince the editor, I've pasted a bit of his email (I found it in my archives):
Polly is a true and real person of lovliness, graciousness, passion and is very talented in all that she touches. She is humble and grateful for all that she has and does. Her life story is amazing and I have asked her when she will write her story but she is not at that point in life yet for that to happen. I believe that if you take a look at the things she has created and nurtured, you will see that this is a person that would be a wonderful addition to Romantic Homes.
Have I mentioned that this man is a blessing?!!
Congratulations! What a fun thing ---I can't wait to see the magazine. And what a sweetheart of a hubby you have.

Oh Polly, I hadn't seen this post but early in the mornings before I "start" my day, I sit down in my reading chair in my bedroom and spend a few moments going through my new magazines. I laughed out loud, with delight, when I saw you on the back page of December's Romantic Homes mag. I am so honored to know you Polly and as I was thinking I realized we have "known" each other from the start of this blogging phenomenon. I am blessed to have met you. Congratulations Polly. xo Lynn
ReplyDeleteYour site and store are so lovely. I had so much fun browsing through and just purchased some things. I am so hoping that you have a cherry pail with a number on it left! Can't wait to receive the goodies.
ReplyDeleteHey!1 I just picked up the magazine today and plan to read it this evening. Step #1: Jammies, #2 Hot Mint Tea, #3 hop into bed, #4 read decorating magazines until sleepy. A great way to end the day!

Tell Mr. B 'thank you' from Hillbilly Debutante. RH is how i found you - i'm glad i did. You, my dear, are a blessing to me. Living in the outskirts of Washington, DC, it is as times hard to find 'simple pleasures.' i love your blog.
