Party Crown!

It's Pink Saturday's 1st "birthday" so we're putting on our party crowns and celebrating with them! Come on over to the French Cupboard blog and enjoy the fun...

Polly, Polly Quite Contrary

It's been raining for a few days here. I've been looking out the windows literally watching the flowers grow ...waiting for the chance to go out and say hello to them.
I have a frog that can't wait to meet them!
Aren't I wicked?!

Ta Da!

I'm sleeping in today... finally!

After 12 years... I have my very first GRADUATE!

(You might get a pop-up after the video starts - it's harmless. Just close it out)

Only 3 more to go... And the youngest just finished kindergarten. Oh Father, give me longevity and wisdom and a few moments of sleep...

Laundry Sprinkler

Mom used to use one of these for ironing when I was a kid. It was a bit old fashioned even then but when the steam button on the iron broke, she showed me how to use an old soda pop bottle and a laundry sprinkler.
Today I use it for my indoor flowers.
Mom still loves iron. I love that she's a bit old fashioned.
(Here's some laundry sprinklers on ebay)

Shoebox Nostalgia

It seems we're all saving, cutting back, using what we have...
I didn't actually save these little candle bits, even though Mr. Blessing says that I save everysinglecottonpickinthing. I just thought they were darling so I rescued them from a grandma's shoebox of "just in case" items. I don't have a shoebox like that. I'm one of those gals with the mindset of "if one is good, three is better" so I have closets of "just in case" stuff. But I'm working on decluttering ~ one room at a time this Summer. Having a graduation party to host in a couple weeks is really lighting a fire under my normally too-nostalgic-to-let-go-of-that attitude. With one room done, I'm excited to move on and get more rooms cleaned out. I'm done with the closets... done with the stacked shelves... done with the shoebox ~ Ok, maybe not the shoebox. I mean, everyone needs a "just in case" stash, right?!
What's in your shoebox?

Losing Myself

Last night I saw a man that we would probably all classify as "different". He was shabbily dressed but not so much that he appeared homeless. The way his shoulders moved when he talked gave the impression that maybe he was "challenged". I stood behind him when the music started and even from several feet behind him, I could tell that he was singing along. His head swayed from left to right with the melody. The way he pumped his arms, palms up, with the emphasis of the song.... Something about him touched my heart. He was losing himself in pure adoration.

Cottage Garage Sale

When the historic neighborhoods around here have garage sales, it's the most beautiful way to have a garage sale! I would beg and plead to have this darling cottage garage!
Can you guess what my favorite find was?
Here's a few more pictures from our historic jaunt.

Gypsy Picnic

I'm having a Gypsy-Picnic over at French Cupboard.
Won't you join me...

Garden in a Cup

My daughter & I are working out in the garden this afternoon. And tomorrow is the annual historic neighborhood garage sales.
