I was over at the store Friday when I spied this thing-a-ma-jig. I don't have any idea what it is but I can think of tons of fun things to do with it. Today, maybe it'll be apples. Aren't Penny's pumpkins darling?! (I think it was Penny who introduced them to us.) The kids had fun making them. We did 6 or 7 before we ran out of toliet paper =)
I've been thinking about how I'm going to decorate for Christmas this year. Only because every other year I have the typical tacky, gaudy stuff - just because it's what we've accumulated over the years. And every year I hate it and can't wait to get it all put away so I can have pretty stuff out again. But this year, I'm going to enjoy the decorations, darn it! I want pretty Christmas stuff!! I saw this picture over at Chez Fifi and I think it's a wonderful sparkly look. Maybe that'll work for Christmas... I asked Fifi (because I can't stand not knowing stuff), when she's at these beautiful homes and shops, if she does the set-up designs, takes photos, etc. I was curious about what exactly she does because she has a million things going all the time. She told me that she finds the various locations, does scouting photos, writes a short description and then, if it's accepted, she goes back to the location and styles the rooms. Then she writes the article! Can you imagine??? I'm sure it's incredibly exciting, but what a ton of work she must have! She writes for 12 different magazines! Anyhow, I just thought you might find that interesting.
Did you get one of these in the mail last week? I think I like her new look. It's perfect for Autumn which is a new twist and the little brochure is interesting too. If you didn't get one, drop me an email with your address and I'll send my copy over to you.
I was browsing over at A Fanciful Twist on Saturday and had to take a peek at the Galliano collection that she had linked to. I don't go for all the heavy make-up but the designs are really unique!
Can you tell that I'm feeling a bit lackadaisical today? We went to a bonfire last night and we're all sleepy today. I don't feel like engaging in anything that might require more thought than what cereal would go well with my Diet Pepsi. And today all the girls are meeting at the store to do some re-arranging and set up for the holidays. I hope I have a partner =) ...I'll show you some pictures later this week of the end result. I'm out the door... as soon as I grab some more caffeine. Happy Monday! (p.s. Do you have any idea where a homeschool mom would find a substitute teacher for the day?)

ReplyDeleteHi Polly! We are in the same boat with the Christmas decorating dilemma! I,too, am tired of the same old ornaments year after year and would prefer something new this year! I'm thinking of having my own pink tree in my private little space at home........ :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Christmas decor ~ minimize the red and green and maximize the white twinkle lights and pretty white sparklies!

OMGOSH!! I just saw the PUMPKIN book and wanted to get it, the photos are YUMMY!! I LOVED it but didn't have the CHA CHING to get it! :(
ReplyDeleteI just am in awe how you find the most wonderful things to introduce us to!
*muah*
We've had "pumpkin day" (the day we go out and take the hay-truck out to the pumpkin patch and bring back more than we can carry) circled on our calendar for weeks now. It's this Saturday...picnic breakfast tailgated at the farm's gates so we can be sure a place on the first truck out and a thermos of cider ready for the drive back home...and there's very little that would ever cause us to miss it!
ReplyDeleteglad you enjoyed the book

Tell all of your freinds about it. You can find it in the produce section of your local Wal-Mart. It is a great value and will be referenced season after season. Again thank you for your support.
